International Civic Engagement Studies (ICES) is a peer-reviewed journal that promotes interdisciplinary research and scholarly discourse advancing the understanding of civic engagement and social education.   Research on regional science and governance within the civic education sub-program encourages active public participation in political engagement. This encompasses the study of government science, political education, and civic responsibility, as well as the role of government in functional and administrative entities. It also encompasses participatory planning, institutions, economic development, natural resource management, and rural-urban linkages.

ICES seeks scholarly work that contributes to global dialogue on civic responsibility and social education. The journal particularly encourages submissions that offer international perspectives and culturally responsive approaches to civic engagement.
