About the Journal
The Journal of Humanities and Social Environmental Studies (JHSES) is a biannual, open-access digital publication launched in 2025 by Citra Nusa Digital Publisher. JHSES provides a rigorous, peer-reviewed platform for scholarship at the intersection of human experience and environmental inquiry, drawing upon the fields of humanities, social sciences, religious studies, and environmental philosophy.
We welcome original research articles, critical text analyses, conceptual essays, and theoretical reviews—each submitted in English and subjected to a double-blind review by at least two experts. With issues appearing every June and December, JHSES assigns a DOI to every published article and includes abstracts in both English and Bahasa Indonesia to ensure broad international visibility. Grounded in methodological rigor and interdisciplinary dialogue, JHSES advances understanding of how cultural values, religious worldviews, and philosophical frameworks shape human–environment interactions.

Reference at least 20 of the last ten years of publication
It is recommended to use the Mendeley/Zotero/EndNote application in writing references (download Mendeley here).
Plagiarism checks result in a maximum of 20%. Then, (1) File Plagiarism Check (PDF) and (2) Registration Form (PDF) are uploaded in Step 4 as an attachment file at the time of submission.
The Letter of Acceptance (LoA) is provided after going through the review and revision process.
