The inaugural edition of ICES Volume 1 Number 1 (2025) publishes various contemporary studies on the dynamics of citizen engagement in both urban and modern development contexts. The articles present key themes on government policy, citizen engagement, Civic Education, and also present appropriate learning models in enhancing citizen engagement. This edition also highlights the importance of political knowledge and government policies as well as appropriate approaches in honing citizens' political skills, emphasizing Civic Education strategies in supporting citizen intelligence and growth. Contributions to this article come from various institutions including Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Sunan Gunung Djati State Islamic University, Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. HAMKA University, STKIP Pasundan, and the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
