International Civic Engagement Studies (ICES) serves as a crucial platform in the academic landscape, bringing together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers dedicated to exploring the dynamics of civic engagement worldwide. In an increasingly complex and interconnected world, understanding how individuals and communities participate in civic life is increasingly crucial. ICES addresses this need by providing a space for the dissemination of in-depth research, in-depth case studies, and theoretical analysis that explores the multifaceted nature of civic engagement.
International Civic Engagement Studies (ICES) also focuses on issues of political engagement, social engagement, organizational engagement, educational engagement, governance, and the study of civic education, a key area of study within its field, including methods and models for civic engagement.

The inaugural edition of ICES Volume 1 Number 1 (2025) publishes various contemporary studies on the dynamics of citizen engagement in both urban and modern development contexts. The articles present key themes on government policy, citizen engagement, Civic Education, and also present appropriate learning models in enhancing citizen engagement. This edition also highlights the importance of political knowledge and government policies as well as appropriate approaches in honing citizens' political skills, emphasizing Civic Education strategies in supporting citizen intelligence and growth. Contributions to this article come from various institutions including Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Sunan Gunung Djati State Islamic University, Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. HAMKA University, STKIP Pasundan, and the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
