The Journal of Humanities and Social Environmental Studies (JHSES) publishes rigorous, peer-reviewed scholarship that illuminates the complex interplay between human societies and their natural surroundings. We seek contributions that employ interdisciplinary methodologies and theoretical perspectives to address pressing environmental questions at local, regional, and global scales.

Article Types

All manuscripts must be submitted in English and demonstrate clear methodological rigor, theoretical innovation, and relevance to human–environment discourse. Submissions undergo a double-blind peer review, and accepted papers appear in our June and December issues, each assigned a DOI and accompanied by bilingual abstracts (English–Bahasa Indonesia) to maximize scholarly reach.
